The Newman Center offers a variety of options for college students to attend.
We, the Newman Center, would like to give thanks to the Legacy of Faith Endowment Foundation.
The Legacy of Faith Endowment Foundation were able to give us monetary funds to help 20 students attend Fall Retreat for the Upper Peninsula Universities. This is a great achievement for the Newman Center to be able to have that many students!
Thank you again to the Legacy of Faith Endowment Foundation for all of your support and gratitude.
Students talk about Fall Retreat
"I thought retreat went very well. Very grateful we are able to access Bay Cliff. It was an excellent get away from school and to refocus my relationship on Christ. "
"My experience was great. The best part of it was when I went to adoration and then to confession. It sure helped me a lot because I was going through some difficult times but that made me realize I shouldn't give up because God is always with me. :) "
"Retreat was a really great time for me. I really enjoyed getting to know new people from other universities as well as people from my own group. The time in small group was very helpful to me. I found I could be really open with people I had not know very long. It was a very comfortable and safe setting. The talks on confession and God's mercy were very applicable to my own life, so I took much of those talks to heart. The entire weekend was filled with many laughs and love. Adoration and confession helped me to reset and regain a fire for the Lord. Overall, retreat was the most fun I've had at college so far. "
"I enjoyed retreat thoroughly! It was great seeing so many folks my age thoroughly devoting their life to Christ and going through the same journey I am!"
This week the NC Ladies decided to start a video series called One take Sunday! Yesterday, we created our first episode that was just highlighting what is going on this week. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. :)
Hey! It's Samantha here. So the retreat last weekend was my last Fall Retreat with the Newman Center. Going into it I never thought that I would have one ounce of sadness. I was wrong. 4 years ago I went on my first ever Fall Retreat. It was awesome! There was laughter and I got to know so many of the Newman Center crew better than I ever did before and that is when I first time I thought hey, maybe I would like to live here. Out of that Newman Center crew, God gave me a start of a friendship that I never expected to become one of my main lifelines especially in my faith. My fellow resident, Bailey, and I became friends. It sounds corny I know, like hey let's go on a retreat. You will make friends. But, I did make friends and one of the greatest friendships that I have ever had came out of my first Fall Retreat. Now fast forward 4 years and I realize that my first Fall Retreat back in 2013 changed my life. It not only resurrected my faith, but it also made me realize that having someone to help me in my faith is a total blessing. So I just want to take time right now to make a shout out to my wonderful friend Bailey! Thank you for the four years of friendship!
Congrats to our two of our past Peer Ministers on getting married this past weekend!
The Newman Center has been lucky enough to see Luke and Jennie grow as a couple, but also grow in their individual faith. It was a blessing to have many Newman Center alumni and current students involved in the spectacular event! We also would like to thank Luke and Jennie for letting the Newman Center be apart of their faith filled love story. We love you both!
